This weekend my dad extended his SLC business trip so we took off work early on Friday, grabbed some Red Iguana, and hit the road towards Rexburg to visit Conner. We have been so lucky these past few months to host family and make the drive up to BYU-I to visit Conner, Alex, and Tiffany. The trip was all about soccer and food. Friday the boys played 3 v. 3, we stocked Con up with groceries, and went to Da Pineapple Grill. Alex and Tiff joined us for dinner and we stayed with them that evening. Turns out their couch is very comfortable, for future trips I tap tap the couch. Then Saturday we got more food at breakfast, went to Bear World, watched Conner score in his soccer game, they won 5-0, and finished off the night with steak and burgers in Idaho Falls before we headed home.
Let's take a second and talk about Bear World. I have seen the billboards since 2007 and always wanted to stop and see the BEARS. Bears have always been my favorite animal; if I could have one, I'd own one. We didn't know what to expect since the park is pretty small and it has such a grandiose name. You drive through and see bison, elk, the rare white elk (that is a bunch of bologna), moose, baby deer, and then you enter another gate... BEARS! Sleeping, roaming, cuddling up under man made dens, and crawling up on everything. According to the ranger there was a lot of activity. Spoiler alert: there were two wolves. We have never seen wolves before so it was a pleasant surprise. I was so shocked the pics I took were awful. Then we saw the pups. They were wrestling and the caramel looking guy fell of the logs. It was pretty funny. I have one recommendation for Bear World. Fill up your car with people. We regret not inviting more people cause a full car/SUV/minivan costs only $4 more than four people, so fill 'er up and go!
Thanks Dad for the fun-filled weekend! Next time lets make it longer than 36 hours.
Hahahah PARKOUR!!
ReplyDeleteDa Pineapple Grill is our favorite place to eat in Rexburg! Looks like you guys had a great trip!
It is the only place to eat in Rexburg, kidding! I love their fried rice. I should have just ordered a plate of rice and dessert. Did you get a chance to visit Bear World when you were up there?
